I'M ANGÉLICA
Â
I grew up in Bogotá, Colombia 🇨🇴 , during the height of the narco civil war. Fear was everywhere but so was determination. My dad left when I was seven. My mom and I lived with my grandparents above the dry cleaners they ran.
At 8, I was commuting 3 hours a day to attend a private Catholic school my parents believed would open doors. In third grade, when a teacher asked whose parents were divorced, I was the only one who raised my hand. That moment taught me how to stand alone and stand strong.
At 15, I left behind my family, friends, culture, and language to move to the U.S. with my mom. I barely spoke English, yet I still joined the high school newspaper anyway because I knew it would stretch me. Took French, too. Earned honors. It wasn’t easy — there were many late nights, but excellence was how I survived.
By 22, I was managing a 65-person team in an iconic New York City luxury hotel. The prestige was shiny, but behind it I was burning out. Depression hit in my late 20s. I was bullied by executives who couldn’t handle a young woman solving problems they hadn’t been able to fix themselves. I thought my worth and identify were found in my work.Â

I kept rising—world-renowned brands, dream jobs, accolades—but something was missing.
The more I leaned into my emotions, the more influence I had. Faith, mentors and training helped me see it clearly: people are promoted with little guidance and almost no emotional tools. We celebrate operational excellence and performance goals—but we neglect the human side of leadership.
Society tells us that promotion means we’re “ready.” That speed equals success. That younger is better. Just look at lists like Forbes 30 Under 30.

So I took a risk—I launched my own consulting firm in 2023 🚀
Today, I help leaders and teams build the self-awareness and resilience they need to lead with clarity and impact. Because resilience gets you far. But healing gets you home.

"This time last year, I was a frazzled mother of 2, just barely getting by. Thanks to Taylor's courses, I'm a happier, healthier person for myself and my family."
